Description

FuZen Entertainment and DROPPED are pretty bloody proud to announce Aquasky and Black Noise from the UK!

Aquasky: I think Greg Churchill said it best, "Aquasky are LEGENDS!" In fact the last time they were here, a few years ago, on their own, door sales were $35.

Black Noise: Currently signed to Fat Boy Slim's record label 'Southern Fried Records' along with Armand Van Helden and Crookers. Not only that, but a few months ago Kayne West put their video of 'Jackin My Fresh' on his blog under the title 'SUPERFRESH' and they are currently playing all around the world.

This is going to be a paaaaarty. With acts this big there is no mucking around so we have got the big local names in support: Greg Churchill, Timmy Schumacher and Page 3.

In fact lets just come out with it, set times are:

1000–1200 Page 3
1200–0130 Aquasky (UK)
0130–0230 Timmy Schumacher
0230–0400 Black Noise (UK)
0400–close Greg Churchill

How much would you expect to pay for this awesomeness? $50? $3,000?

Actually, tickets are just $15. You might want to go get one now from http://www.iticketexpress.co.nz/events/2010/jul/aquasky-and-black-noise/ Beat Merchants or Real Groovy. As you can see this gig is at Fu, so there is limited capacity.

To get you in the mood here is a brand new Black Noise mix tape:

annnnnnnnd another, more bassline driven, from January:

OK now for some more detail courtesy of Timmy Schumacher.
Dave Wallace, Brent Newitt and Kieron Bailey released some absolute drum 'n' bass classics back in the day on Moving Shadow records and Bukem’s Looking Good label under the Aquasky moniker. Wanting a change, the threesome followed breakbeat culture down to 138bpm, moving onto releasing the legendary ‘Beat The System’ album on Botchit and Scarper. From there there was no turning back as Aquasky continued to plunder the Breaks genre, smashing out anthem after anthem and starting their own label Passenger records.

After a hiatus they decided to move with the times, exploring their rave roots within the 4/4 arena and the very fresh sounds of electro and slammin’ bassline house. Black Noise was born. Aquasky/Black Noise is a badman threesome, but one of the Bournemouth trio will be touching down in NZ for one night, to bring us a taste of the UK bass magic they have created over a long and prolific career in dance music.

So there you have it! If you're into quality music, you won't be missing this.
