Ok, so where do I start? I'm still kind of shaking from the whole experience.
Here it goes:
James Cameron's latest creation Avatar has had some hype built up around it and for good reason. He left feature films in 1997 after creating one of the biggest movies of all time, Titanic, and since then focused on documentary films. So his 'coming back' has been eagerly anticipated.
Avatar, I can assure you, meets those high expectations and takes you on an emotional, seat gripping journey of epic proportions.
Cameron not only directed and wrote the movie but also co-developed the digital 3-D Fusion Camera System. The 3D glasses are no fashion statement (happy to hand mine back) and the story line can be a bit predictable but the 3D and digital work is outstanding and more than makes up for the mass market storyline and soft-soft-soft sex scene. It is a family movie after all.
The two and a half hour 3D si-fi adventure was absolutely thrilling and that will defiantly not be the last time I go see it at the movies. Avatar is not a 'wait til DVD movie' you just have to see it in 3D.
So as a blockbuster, I would have to give it an epic 5 stars *****
